Current research interests:
1.) Variations in dissolved organic matter composition across seasonal and hydrologic regimes
2.) Composite chemical fingerprints as tracers of water and particulate sources and transport processes
3.) Concentration-discharge relationships in streams at storm event and longer time scales
4.) Transport and storage of sediment and associated phosphorus in streams
For these projects, I use a combination of natural abundance stable isotopes, radioisotopes, and other chemical tracers to examine biogeochemical and hydrologic processes.

Previous research:
Previous projects have focused on nutrient resorption and litterfall nutrient dynamics in old-growth and successional Appalachian forests, the ecological effects of prescribed fire and other fuel reduction treatments in eastern U.S. forests, and reactive nitrogen fluxes associated with unconventional natural gas extraction.
